The second look

Why prospects check your social presence

A referral, a Google search, your Business Profile or an ad may be how someone first hears of you. When they take a second look, your Instagram account and Facebook Page are among the places they can check.

  • A referral
  • A Google search
  • Your Business Profile
  • An ad

The second look

What they can see there

  • Recent work, and how recently it was done
  • The finish and detail of the workmanship
  • The kinds of projects you take on
  • The people who will turn up
  • Jobs in suburbs they recognise
  • Whether the business looks active and looked after

We do not treat organic social media as a standalone lead-generation promise. Its role is proof and familiarity: when someone does look, a profile full of genuine recent work gives them something real to go on — and a quiet or generic one gives them nothing.

Organic, not paid

Social Media is not Meta Ads

Both happen on Instagram and Facebook, which is why they get mixed up. They are different services with different jobs, and neither replaces the other.

They can complement each other: the same real-job content is often useful raw material for ads. If you want paid reach, that is the separate Meta Ads service. Boosting a post is advertising, so it is not part of this one.

Scope

What we do — and what we don’t

What you do

  • Send photos and videos from your real jobs
  • Add the context we need — the job, the suburb, the service
  • Approve content before it is published

What we do

  • Organise and select the usable material from each job
  • Edit, format and repurpose it for Instagram and Facebook
  • Write the captions and hooks
  • Prepare feed posts, Reels, carousels and Stories where the material suits them
  • Batch it and send it to you for approval
  • Schedule and publish what you approve
  • Review the platform-reported performance
  • Shape the next round of content from what we observe

Not part of this service

  • Replying to comments or messages, or managing your inbox
  • Professional on-site photo or video shoots
  • TikTok, LinkedIn or YouTube
  • Influencer marketing
  • Posting to your Google Business Profile — that is the separate Business Profile service
  • Paid campaigns or boosted posts — that is Meta Ads
  • Stock or AI-generated images presented as your work

Your conversations stay yours: comments and messages come to your business, and you answer them.

The job library

Real job photos and videos become the content

This service is built around usable photos and videos you or your crew capture on real jobs. Professional on-site photography or video shoots are not included. The material needs capturing with the post in mind and somewhere organised to go.

What to capture on a job

  1. BeforeThe problem or the space as you found it, from where you will shoot the after.
  2. DuringThe work in progress, done safely — the part customers rarely get to see.
  3. DetailsClose-ups of joins, finishes, edges and fittings: the quality people are paying for.
  4. WideThe whole job in its setting, so the scale makes sense.
  5. FinishedThe result, tidy and in good light, from the same angle as the before.
  6. The teamThe people doing the work, with their consent.

How it is organised

  • Material is filed by job: the service, the suburb and when it was done.
  • The strongest material is selected; the rest stays in the library for later.
  • Anything that should not be shown is set aside before it reaches a draft.

Content pillars

What we post, and the rule each kind follows

Every post starts from work you actually did. These are the kinds of content that come out of it, each with the condition it has to meet.

PillarWhat it showsThe rule
Completed projectsThe finished job, shown properly.Genuine work, approved by you.
Before and afterWhat changed, from the same angle. Both images from the same real job — never staged or borrowed.
Work in progressHow the job is actually done.Safe work practices visible.
Workmanship and detailsThe finish, the joins, the care.Close-ups of your own work only.
Project walkthroughsA short vertical video through the job.Only when there is footage from the job.
The teamThe people who turn up.With the consent of everyone shown.
Homeowner questionsAnswers to what customers ask you.Accurate for your trade and confirmed by you.
Services explainedWhat a service involves.Only services you actually offer.
Common problemsWhat you find on jobs, and why it matters.Real observations — no scare tactics.
Local workJobs in the areas you serve.Suburb level at most, with the client’s consent; never a street address.
Reviews and testimonialsWhat customers said.Only genuine, with permission — never invented or reworded into a quote.

What we never post

  • Stock photos presented as your work
  • Fake or invented reviews
  • Generic motivational quotes
  • Filler memes
  • Project claims you cannot back up
  • Reposted trends that have nothing to do with your trade

One job, several formats

One job becomes several useful posts

A single well-documented job can carry more than one post. We plan the formats from what the material can support, not from a quota.

  • Vertical
  • Portrait
  • Square
  • Carousel

A before-and-after sequence, or the stages of the job, swiped through in order.

  • Reel

A short vertical video: the walkthrough, the reveal, the detail that is hard to show in a photo.

  • Feed post

The single strongest image, with a caption that says what was done, where and why it matters.

  • Story

A quicker, lighter look at work in progress, where it suits the material.

Each piece is prepared for your Instagram account and your Facebook Page — formatted for where it will appear, not copied blindly between the two.

Everything is original to your business: your jobs, your team, your area. We do not repost other people’s content or pass off stock imagery as your work.

Approval first

Approval, scheduling and account ownership

Nothing goes out in your name without your approval. The workflow is simple on your side and consistent on ours.

  • Draft
  • Approved
  • Scheduled
  • Live
  • Held
  1. You supply photos and videos from real jobs

With the context we need — the job, the suburb, the service.

  2. We organise the material

Filed by job, so nothing gets lost and nothing is reused by accident.

  3. We select the strongest opportunities

The work that best shows the quality of what you do.

  4. We create the content

Posts, Reels and carousels, and Stories where they suit the material, with captions and hooks.

  5. You review and approve

Nothing is published without your approval. Change it, hold it or approve it.

  6. Approved content is scheduled

Planned in batches, so your profiles stay consistent through busy periods.

  7. It is published

To your Instagram account and your Facebook Page.

  8. We monitor performance

Using the metrics the platforms report for your accounts.

  9. The next round improves

What we learn shapes what we capture and post next.

The check before approval

Drafts are checked before they reach you: no street addresses, house numbers or number plates; nobody shown without consent; no client’s private details; only work your business did and has the right to show.

Your accounts stay yours

Your Instagram account and Facebook Page stay under your business’s ownership and control. You give LC Performance the access needed to manage approved content, and you can remove that access at any time.

Measurement

What we measure — and what we don’t claim

Social media is easy to over-report. We keep three layers apart, and say plainly what cannot be joined up.

  1. Platform metrics

    Reported by Instagram and Facebook

Reach, saves, shares, comments and profile visits, and other measures where your accounts report them. They show how content is landing. They are not leads, and they are not revenue.

  2. Website enquiries

    Where the evidence exists

When someone taps through a tracked link on your profile or in a post to your website and sends an enquiry, it reaches LC Flow with the evidence the link carried. Only those enquiries are counted here.

  3. Commercial outcomes

    Only for captured enquiries

For an enquiry that was actually captured and can be attributed, LC Flow follows it through Contacted, Quoted and Won or Lost.

What is not joined up

Messages, comments and calls that start on Instagram or Facebook are not joined to LC Flow, and word of mouth after someone sees your feed cannot be traced. We do not count them as tracked results, and we do not dress platform metrics up as enquiries.

What you see each round

  • What was published, and what is scheduled next
  • The platform-reported metrics for that content
  • Website enquiries that came through the tracked links on your profiles, where there were any
  • What we will change in the next round, and why

Available metrics can vary by account and platform, so the report uses the ones your accounts actually provide.

How it connects

Where social media sits in the system

Your profiles are one of the places people check you. These are the parts around them — each a separate service with its own job.

Your job library

  • Your website

Where the link on your profile lands. A good page turns the second look into an enquiry and sends it to LC Flow.

  • Meta Ads

The separate paid service, for reach you pay for. Content from your real jobs can also be useful material for ads.

  • Google Business Profile

A separate service for how you show up on Google Search and Maps. This service does not post to it.

  • LC Flow

Where website enquiries land, get followed up and move through Contacted, Quoted, Won or Lost.

How we work

From your first photos to a consistent feed

  1. Review your profiles

Where your Instagram account and Facebook Page stand today, and what your existing job photos could become.

  2. Set up access and the job library

You grant the access needed for approved content; we set up where job material goes and what to capture.

  3. First batch and approval

We prepare the first round of content, and you approve, change or hold each piece.

  4. Publish

Approved content is scheduled and published to your Instagram account and Facebook Page.

  5. Review and next round

We look at what the platforms report and plan the next round of content from it.

FAQ

Social media questions tradies actually ask

Do tradies need social media?

Not to get work at all — referrals and search can bring work without it. When someone does look a business up before they call, your Instagram account and Facebook Page are among the places they can check. A quiet or generic profile gives them nothing to go on; a feed of recent, genuine work gives them something real to check. We do not treat organic social media as a standalone lead-generation promise. Its job is to back up the referral, the search result or the ad that brought someone to you.

How is this different from Meta Ads?

Social Media is organic: content from your real jobs, published to your own Instagram account and Facebook Page, with no ad spend. Meta Ads is paid distribution — campaigns, audiences, placements and budget, built to reach people before or outside an active search. They can complement each other, and the same job content can be useful for ads, but neither replaces the other. If you want paid reach, that is the separate Meta Ads service; this one does not run ads or boost posts.

Facebook or Instagram — which matters for a trade business?

Usually both, for different habits. Some customers will look you up on Facebook, others on Instagram, and a referral may send them to either. We prepare each piece for where it will appear rather than copying it blindly between the two. Which one draws more attention varies by trade, area and audience, so we watch what the platforms report for your accounts rather than assume one always matters more.

Who takes the photos and videos?

You and your crew, on real jobs, with your phones. This service is built around usable photos and videos you capture yourselves; professional on-site photo or video shoots are not included. We give you a simple list of what to capture — before, during, details, the whole job, the finished result, and the team with their consent — and we do the organising, selecting, editing and formatting. The better the raw material, the better the posts, so a consistent capture habit is what the service relies on.

What kind of content will you post?

Content made from your work: completed projects, genuine before-and-afters, work in progress, workmanship close-ups, short walkthroughs, the team, answers to homeowner questions, service explanations, common problems you find on jobs, and local work at suburb level. Reviews and testimonials appear only when they are genuine and you have permission. We never post stock photos as your work, invented reviews, motivational quotes, filler memes or claims you cannot back up.

Do I approve everything before it goes live?

Yes. Nothing is published in your business’s name without your approval. Each batch comes to you as drafts, and you can approve, change or hold any piece. Before a draft reaches you, we check it for anything that should not be shown — street addresses, house numbers, number plates, people without consent or a client’s private details — so your approval is about whether you like it, not about catching problems.

Who owns the accounts, and what access do you need?

Your Instagram account and Facebook Page stay under your business’s ownership and control. You give LC Performance the access needed to manage approved content, and you can remove that access at any time. We work inside the accounts you already have, and the content we prepare is made for your business and published only once you have approved it.

How often will you post?

As often as your real material supports, on a plan agreed with you. We do not sell a fixed number of posts, because a quota fills a feed with filler, and filler is exactly what makes a profile look generic. The plan depends on how much work you do, how much of it you capture and what the platforms report for your accounts, and it is reviewed each round rather than locked in.

Will social media bring me leads?

Some enquiries can come directly from your profiles, but that is not the main job and we do not promise it. The larger role is indirect: giving people who heard of you through a referral, a search or an ad something real to check before they call. When someone does tap through to your website and enquire, that enquiry reaches LC Flow with the evidence the link carried, so it can be followed through to quoted and won work.

What do you report?

Three things, kept apart. First, what was published and what is scheduled. Second, the metrics Instagram and Facebook report for that content — reach, saves, shares, comments, profile visits and others where your accounts provide them. Third, website enquiries that came through the tracked links on your profiles, and what happened to them in LC Flow. Messages and calls that start on the platforms are not joined to LC Flow, so we do not count them as tracked results.

Do you reply to comments and messages?

No — community management is not part of this service. Comments and messages come to your business and you answer them, which also keeps the conversation with the person who actually knows the job. We make sure the content itself is clear about what you do and how to get in touch, so the right people know where to go. The posts, captions, approval and scheduling are what this service covers.

Can the same content be used for ads?

Yes, if you also run Meta Ads. Photos and videos from real jobs are often useful raw material for ad creative. Running ads is a separate, paid service with its own campaigns, audiences and budget, so we scope it separately rather than folding it into social media. Organic posting does not include boosting posts: a boost is advertising, and it belongs with the Meta Ads service.

What about photos of customers’ homes and people?

Only what you have the right to show. We never show street addresses, house numbers or number plates, and we leave out anything else that identifies a client’s property unless the client has agreed. People appear only with their consent, and local context stays at suburb level at most. If you are unsure whether a job can be shown, it stays in the library until you have checked with the client — nothing is lost by waiting.
